Being a therapist means being open, non-judgmental, supportive, informative, and humble. I realize that each individual is an expert in their own life, and I encourage individuals to develop their own goals based on their individualized needs. I have an extensive background providing trauma-informed therapy, and using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and attachment theory, along with other interventions. Making sure my clients are safe is my number one priority; by utilizing person-centered and strengths-based approaches, I seek to help empower individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. I specialize in working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, individuals who have experienced emotional abuse, individuals struggling with a sense of secure attachment within relationships, people who use drugs, people living with HIV, and people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I also specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use disorders, trauma, and relationship/family conflict. Therapy is most effective when individuals actively engage in their treatment, and I hope to be able to provide tools and coping mechanisms to help clients reach their goals.
I received my Master of Social Work degree from Widener University, I have a background in trauma-informed care training, and I hold a limited license to practice social work in the state of Michigan. I received my Bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology from the University of Michigan. My work with different populations and communities has taught me to be extremely open-minded with every individual I encounter and has deepened my sense of cultural humility. My commitment to lifelong learning allows me to continue building my professional skills and allows me to learn from each one of my clients.
In my spare time, you can always find me with my husband and daughter and our beloved pets. We really value connection with others and are frequently with friends and family watching sports, playing games, or simply chatting! I love to sing and will often be found doing it anywhere I am!
