Melissa Manninen

I earned my master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Springfield College in Massachusetts, and my PhD in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Michigan State University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Advanced Addiction and Drug Counselor within the State of Michigan.

I serve a diverse range of individuals, including teens and adults facing major life events, including marriage and divorce, employment changes, health concerns and disability. I specialize in mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders to support individuals on their paths to recovery.

I draw from various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), logo therapy, motivational interviewing (MI), and mindfulness techniques. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering a collaborative and supportive therapeutic environment.

My belief is to meet individuals where they are and encourage people to take the lead on development and fulfillment of their goals. I am here to guide you on your life’s journey at your pace
