Hi, I’m Katie! My pronouns are she/her and I am clinical therapist and supervising clinician at COR Counseling. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (MSW, 2018, Michigan State University) and I also hold a BA in Women & Gender Studies (2009, Oakland University).
I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse folks. My therapy style is most influenced by Carl Rogers and humanistic psychology, which means extending unconditional positive regard to my clients, meeting people where they are and helping people become their most empowered and self-actualized selves. The therapeutic modalities I pull in are flexible and based on the needs and goals of my clients, but may include CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and somatic therapy. I practice from frameworks of intersectionality, social justice and Health At Every Size. My top priority is to make clients feel safe, valued, and understood, because I believe these are the conditions needed for healing and growth to occur.
At this time, I am not able to accept new clients. Please feel free to fill out the inquiry form on our website and our office will connect you with one of my wonderful colleagues: https://corcounselingmi.com/appointment-request/ . You are also welcome to email me at katie@corcounselingmi.com to inquire about a waitlist.
