Helping Queer, chronically Ill folx develop self-compassion to lead authentic lives.
I’m a teletherapist based in Detroit, Michigan providing individual therapy to adults across the state. My work is informed by personal experiences with chronic illness, queerness, and is rooted in an intersectional, anti-racist, liberatory framework. I am of primarily Slavic and English heritage, and I enjoy exploring how intersecting identities impact your worldview, values, and experiences with mental health.
Whether you’ve experienced the cruelty of racism, of transphobia, of homophobia, of misogyny, of hyper-capitalism, or of ableism, I believe it’s possible for you to heal. Part of my job is acknowledging where and how harm has been caused and to help you explore how to exist in an unjust world.
It’s more apparent than ever that we live in an–at times–cruel world, and I see my job as supporting those surviving that cruelty. (If you are ready) I can help you process past and present pain through a compassionate, therapeutic relationship, using somatic practices like EMDR, and practices influenced by spirituality like IFS.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies and English–with an emphasis in Queer Theory–from Indiana University in 2012. I completed my Master’s in Clinical Social Work with Children, Youth and Families in 2018 from the University of Michigan, and I have extensive post-graduate training in Gender Affirming Care, EMDR, other trauma-informed practices and have experience supporting people through medical, legal and other forms of transition.
