Jason Mott

Jason Mott is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  He attained a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Integrative Holistic Health and Wellness from Western Michigan University.  Additionally, He attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Saginaw Valley State University.  Jason incorporates Existential, Humanistic, and Holistic approaches to therapy, utilizing his experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2).

Jason specializes in working with young, middle aged, and older adults, individually and in groups, who experience trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, shame, and personal, professional, and academic life transitions.  Many people undergo financial, mental, physical, emotional, and identity crises, and Jason provides the support and skills to face these challenges and make changes to improve their lives.  Additionally helping those who are physically or mentally disabled and have chronic health needs, including epilepsy.  Jason’s goal is to help people find hope, joy, meaning, and fulfilment, and teach skills to improve mental, emotional, and physical health.

Counseling is a journey of self-discovery and change.  I am a guide on this journey to help you explore, achieve, and maintain change in your life.  I focus on the whole person and use mindfulness, spirituality, and expressive arts to create wellness of the mind, body, and spirit.  I believe the practice of meditation and artistic expression, such as music and drawing, can help individuals cope with life challenges.  I cherish the unique experiences and strengths of people and adapt my treatment to the unique needs of the individual.  I believe we are unique parts in a global ensemble. We all have parts to play.
