Welcome! I hold an LLMSW and my career as a social worker has included serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, child welfare, grief and loss, and LGBTQIA+ teens. I grew up in West Michigan and moved to the Ann Arbor area in 2016 after completing my undergraduate studies. Social justice has always been a passion of mine and trauma can come from a variety of experiences that anyone can encounter.
My therapeutic approach will primarily utilize aspects of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectic-Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I do not believe that there is a “one size fits all” modality of therapy and each person is unique in what approaches will help them succeed.
I want to recognize that engaging in therapy requires a level of vulnerability that is very difficult for folks to engage in right away, and trust is an important aspect that needs to be earned over time. This is why I want to create an environment that is safe, non judgemental, and anti-oppressive for anyone looking for a space to talk about their struggles. I have a primary interest in working with teens and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, religious trauma, eating disorders, emotional abuse, domestic/sexual violence, or grief, but my door is open for anyone who needs that safe space to talk. My approach comes from a strength-based lens and acknowledging that the client is the expert of their own situation. I am here to support and guide you on your healing journey.
